# Announcement on Amendment Proposal to the Destruction of Unactivated Accounts and Tokens

With the public discussion in the community and the decision on the 13th BP Meeting, the FIP #9 proposal originally scheduled to be implemented on August 30, 2019(UTC+8) was amended to Amendment Proposal to the Destruction of Unactivated Accounts and Tokens. The amendment proposal has received 16 yes-votes, 1 no-vote, 1 abstention vote. There are still 5 BPs have not voted.

The amendment proposal will lockup the unused records of EOSC main net genesis blocks by the on-chain contract. The implementation codes of the new proposal have been submitted to the development team by the BP Meeting Secretariat. It is expected to start testing on September 9th, 2019(UTC+8), and finally BPs will execute the multi-signature. According to the EOSC mainnet governance rule, the validity of the amendment proposal is determined by the result of BP’s multi-signature on the chain.
